In one sentence: Photoks does not collect, upload, or store any of your personal data. The developer cannot see any information about you.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics or advertising SDKs, and nothing is ever sent to a developer server — there is no such server.
Your photos and videos
- Photos and videos are read and displayed only on your device. They never leave it and are never copied or uploaded anywhere.
- The app stores only local marks: what you liked, saved, noted, or marked for deletion. These live in the app's private storage on your device — never synced, never uploaded.
- When you delete, the app calls the system photo-deletion API and iOS shows its own confirmation. Deleted items go to the system Recently Deleted album and can be recovered in the Photos app for 30 days.
When the app uses the network
The app has no backend, but three situations cause network activity through Apple's system services. Those requests are made by iOS and handled by Apple; the developer neither handles nor sees them:
| Activity | When | Can it be turned off? |
|---|---|---|
| Reverse geocoding | Turning a photo's coordinates into a place name for the caption | Yes — Settings → Content → "Show place" |
| Downloading iCloud originals | When "Optimize iPhone Storage" is on and originals live only in iCloud | No — they simply wouldn't display |
| Purchases and restores | When you buy or tap Restore Purchase; handled entirely by Apple | No |
The developer never receives your payment details.
Third parties
No third-party SDKs, no ads, no analytics, no data sharing.
Children
Photoks is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Since we hold none of your data, there is nothing to export or delete on our side. Deleting the app removes all marks stored locally. Your photos are unaffected.
